Miasma W.I.P [The worlds miasma ]

The miasma knows no real beginning, nor end. Where it came from? Folly, hatred, the malice born in the hearts of man is said to be the cause of it all. However what humanity knows is the miasma is something that cloaks the menacing beings that lurks within from their sight. A veil which shrouds this world protecting it from the next if you will. By this same token though the miasma seems to be a cage, one that stops the creatures within from savagely decimating the human population, so in places that the miasma is thickest that is where the concentration of beasts, demons, and creatures of nightmares have gathered.


Functionality of Miasma: The miasma that covers this world is known to be a veil, think of it like a lining that separates what environments monsters naturally inhabit from the mundane regions in which humans inhabit. While creatures within the miasma cannot be seen by regular folk, they can be seen by those who have something more, something supernatural about them that gives them the strength to fight these creatures. This miasma for some reason has left spots in the world completely barren of monsters, while other spots have become completely overrun by the monsters that lurk within. This is how them miasma that inhabits this world naturally behaves, and what it does.

To be precise, Miasma came from a meteor that crashed into the world at the end of the Final Lost Age. Ghjenuveffa is one of the few considered "Immune" to its effects. However, immune isn't the proper word. Its more of her specific racial background emits the power that banishes it, much like the Crystals do. Hint hint @ where the gods went. I'll make a history post real quick on that.

I was thinking beyond just simply being the veil that separates worlds that there could be a natural lingering malevolence within the miasma. Something that has accrued over time due to all the death that has occurred from the constant conflict between humans and monsters. Because of this it could cause normally docile monsters to go berserk. Also when regarding your recent post about concentrated crystals within the miasma, these could be hot-spots of all this concentrated hatred maybe? I'm just going touch and go with this right now.

The concept of hatred fueling miasma or something similar is overused. I'd rather it not be that.
